The people I work with

I bring the photographer. That is on purpose.

A wedding on the rim is not a backdrop — it is a cliff with weather and light that changes by the minute. The people I work with know the park cold: where the sun will be and when, which edges are safe to set up on, and how to leave no trace behind. You can bring your own photographer, but I'll want to meet them first.

Safety, first

They never set up a shot that isn’t safe to set up. I should never have to say "let’s move."

They know the light

Sun angles in this park, this season, this overlook. The good frames are planned, not lucky.

Leave no trace

Nothing dropped, nothing trampled, nothing left. The canyon looks like we were never there.

The roster

  • Terri Attridge

Terri has worked the canyon for years. She knows every angle of every overlook in every season, follows the park's rules without being asked, and can move backwards down a cliff edge with a ladder in her hands without flinching. Most of my weddings are with her.

  • More to come. I'm building this list with photographers (and a videographer) I trust across the state — if that might be you, the conversation starts the same place everything else does.

Where we can do this

The Grand Canyon is home, but it is not the only door. If you have somewhere in Arizona in your heart, ask — odds are I, or one of the people I work with, already know it.

  • Grand Canyon
  • Sedona
  • Tucson & Saguaro
  • Lake Powell
  • Petrified Forest
  • Monument Valley
  • Horseshoe Bend
  • Flagstaff & the San Francisco Peaks
