About
I am ethereal by default. I turn it on for you.
I have been making ceremonies for ten years. Before that I was a camp director and a life coach, and before that I was a kid raised on the kind of land that teaches you to pick up the right rock without thinking about it.
What I do now is a synthesis of all of it. I plan the day. I write the ceremony. I gather the materials. I stand next to you when the wind is bad. I cry at every single wedding — that part has not gotten any better with practice and I have stopped trying.
My work is for couples who are choosing each other on their own — two people, sometimes with their children, no audience to perform for. It is for couples who do not want a ceremony copied from someone else's Pinterest board. It is for elders. It is for queer couples. It is for the people who got married the first time the way their family wanted, and who want this time to be the way they want.
I am not the right officiant for everyone. If we are not a fit when we talk, I will help you find someone who is. That is part of the work.
